Systems that need electricity need an outlet nearby. Softener and filter backwash must drain to a drywell, not the septic system. Starting prices from our 2026 pricebook. A real person confirms your price before anything is scheduled.

Questions

Water treatment, answered.

Answers from licensed plumbers and septic installers. Still unsure? Call East CT at (860) 292-0484.

Do I need a water softener?
Only if your water is hard. A water test, from $150, shows your hardness, iron, pH and dissolved solids.
Can my softener drain into my septic tank?
It should not. Softener and filter backwash belongs in its own drywell, which we install.
What removes the rotten egg smell?
Sulfur. An aeration iron filter removes iron, manganese and sulfur, and starts from $3,700.
